Review: "The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace" by Jeff Hobbs
Submitted by Irv
A small group of three met to discuss The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace. Despite the low numbers we spent more than the usual time actually discussing the book with little digression. The discussion focused on how a man of Robert’s intellect could make such huge mistakes and destroy his life and future. We bantered around various theories but arrived at the obvious conclusion that we were, of course, guessing. We also discussed the heroine of the book, Robert’s mother, and I think we all agree the book could have been titled The Long and Tragic Life of Robert Peace’s Mother.
We gave it a 4.5 for Interest and a 4.25 for Readability. We were all somewhat noncommittal about reading another book by Mr. Hobbs, with everyone saying “probably.”
